Our goal at JRAP is to publish high quality regional science/regional economics manuscripts that are theory-based, empirically-sound, and policy-relevant. We actively seek quality submissions and endeavor to provide a prompt and thorough double-blind peer review for all manuscripts submitted to the Journal. In particular, we encourage submissions from graduate students and junior scholars. We also encourage submission of letter-length articles (under 2,000 words inclusive of tables and references).
Our journal procedures are simple and designed to increase the number of submissions and reduce the time to publication for accepted manuscripts. All we require for an initial submission is a .pdf with no identifying information. All initial submissions will then be reviewed by the editor for suitability, typically within 48 hours. If the article is not desk rejected, it is then sent to two peer reviewers with the goal of a first decision with two months. Manuscripts given revise-and-resubmits are typically not returned to referees. Rather, a decision is made by the editor on a resubmitted manuscript, usually within one week.
There is a $25 submission fee for all manuscripts.
Following acceptance, authors will be sent final formatting guidelines. These guidelines include using Overleaf to put their paper into LaTeX to generate their proof.
